Where are Mikhail Mishostin from?

Mikhail Vladimirovich Mishostin was born on 3 March 1966 in a city called Lopanya, Russia, located near Moscow. His childhood was spent in an ordinary family. His father Vladimir Moiseevich Mishostin was active in Komsomol, the youth branch of the Communist Party and belonged to the Jewish community. His mother Luiza Mishilovna was from Kotlas city in the Archengelsk region.

Where to study?

Mishostin graduated in System Engineering in 1989 from Moscow State Technological University in Moscow. After this, he completed Post Graduate Studies from there in 1992. It was here that his technical and administrative career started.

But he did not think it right to stay here. In 2003, he received a PhD in Economics from Playkhanov Economics University. Then in 2010, he also received the title of DSC (Doctor of Science) in Economics from Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration.

Travel to become Prime Minister

Mikhail Mishostin worked as a director of Russia’s ‘Federal Tax Service’ from 2010 to 2020. He made the tax system digitally strong and transparent, which was praised not only in Russia, but also in other countries. Due to his work, on 15 January 2020, President Vladimir Putin named him the new Prime Minister of the country. The next day on 16 January 2020, the Russian Parliament (Duma) unanimously approved him for the post of Prime Minister.
