On which day will Muharram be holiday?
The date of Muharram will be decided on the basis of seeing the moon. According to the calendar of the Government of India, 6 July is the date of Muharram. That is, officially on July 6 is a holiday of Muharram. Since it is Sunday on this day, there will be no separate holiday.
In return, there will be a holiday everywhere on July 7. So far, there is no mention of July 7 holiday in most institutions. According to the academic calendar of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), 6 July is the possible date of Muharram. It is worth noting that there is no holiday of banks on 7 July.
Will the stock market be closed?
If Muharram is celebrated on 7 July, a public holiday can be announced in more Muslim population states like West Bengal, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and Telangana. Official notifications are expected to be released soon. As far as the stock market is concerned, due to no public holiday on this day, the markets will be open and business will be done in general.
