SP has this power
Let us tell you that SP is also known as Superintendent of Police or Superintendent of Police. So CP is also called Commissioner of Police or Police Commissioner. It is usually appointed in district headquarters and small towns and the SP has control over the entire police force of such districts. The CP is not responsible for any one district, but is the sole head of the police of the entire division and range, who takes command directly from the Home Ministry and executes the work as per the Home Secretary. At least 2 to 3 SPs work under one CO. Although both SP and CP are IPS officers.
There is so much difference in the salary of both
Let us tell you that there is a lot of difference in the salary of SP and CP. The salary range of SP is Rs 78,000 – 2,09,200 (as per 7th Pay Commission, along with grade pay and other allowances. This salary can change depending on the state and years of service. Whereas the salary range of CP is 1, Rs 44,200 – 2,24,100 (depending on post and seniority). CP salary is higher than SP because this post is bigger. Is responsible for handling the law and order of cities.
