In a world where digital manipulation and artificial intelligence dominate much of what we see online, distinguishing reality from fiction is becoming increasingly difficult. Yet a young woman from China has recently taken social media by storm for her extraordinary beauty, which many claim is too perfect to be real.

Viral Sensation From Sichuan

A 20-year-old woman named Chenyue, hailing from China’s Sichuan province, has become an overnight internet sensation. Her elegant looks and impeccable fashion sense have captivated netizens, with many users questioning whether she is, in fact, a real person, or a product of artificial intelligence.

According to the South China Morning PostChenyue is a student at the Academy of Fine Arts within the School of Special Education. Her popularity soared following the release of a video in which she appeared wearing a sparkling dress at an institute event. With her long black hair cascading freely, she appeared ethereal, drawing in over 300,000 views and a flurry of comments comparing her to an AI-generated image.

Debunking The Illusion

Speculation about her authenticity has reached such a peak that some social media users refuse to believe she is human. However, Chenyue’s story is one of resilience and quiet determination. Deaf since the age of two, she studies at a specialist institution and is unable to speak to publicly counter the rumours.

Chenyue has addressed the speculation indirectly, stating that her striking appearance is largely down to makeup techniques. While she has had minor cosmetic procedures like double eyelid surgery, rhinoplasty, cheek fillers, and a hair transplant, she asserts that her natural features remain largely intact.
