This was the case for a woman who made a startling discovery in her coffee machine. Despite using it daily, she was horrified by what she found when she decided to clean it.

According to a report by The MirrorAlex Hazen, a popular content creator on TikTok, shared a video of her shocking find. She revealed that although she didn’t use the machine frequently, she discovered moss-like growth inside the water reservoir when she opened it.

The sight made her feel nauseous as she realized she had been unknowingly drinking coffee made with contaminated water. Despite considering herself a clean person, she was unaware of the moss build-up inside the machine.

Viewers of her video were equally appalled and advised her to clean the coffee machine at least once a month. Many noted that stagnant water, especially when not exposed to sunlight, can easily lead to moss and bacterial growth.
