According to Hindustan Times report, the importance of India in Trump’s strategy is evident from the fact that Marco Rubio’s first multilateral meeting was the Quad meeting and Secretary Rubio’s first bilateral meeting was with India. In the same report, quoting top sources, it was told that the Trump administration has decided to further strengthen relations with India by giving a clear message in the Indo-Pacific region through the Quad meeting and bilateral meeting with Minister Jaishankar.

The relations of the previous administration will be further enhanced

It is believed that Trump will take forward the India-US bilateral relations achieved during his previous administration. They are ready to take big steps in technology, defense and security, trade and commerce as well as economic relations. At the same time, the Quad meeting was a review of the previous steps taken by the group. Secretary Rubio reminded his three counterparts that it was President Trump who initiated the Quad Foreign Ministers’ Dialogue in 2017.

Secretary Rubio clearly indicated that President Trump intends to move forward on the Quad.
