A woman from Texas, originally from Pakistan, went viral after sharing a scary experience at a fuel station that nearly turned into a serious accident. Roohi Anwar posted a video on Instagram showing how a routine stop to refuel her car suddenly went wrong. In the clip, Anwar is seen filling up her car when gasoline unexpectedly splashes all over her face and body. Luckily, she stayed calm and reacted quickly. She had a bottle of water in her car and used it right away to reduce the risk of any harm.
Sharing what happened, Anwar wrote, “Last night around midnight, I went to fill gas—something I do every week without thinking twice. But this time, I accidentally pulled the nozzle while pressing, and gas splashed all over my face and body. Alhamdulillah, I had water in the car and acted fast.”
She also warned others to be more cautious: “I’m sharing this because accidents happen—even during routine tasks. Please be careful and stay alert at the pump. It only takes a second.”
Since being posted on July 2, the video has received over 1.71 lakh views. Despite its simplicity, many people connected with her message.
A user wrote, “Glad you are safe.”
Another commented, “Omg… meri tu jaan hi nikal gayi. This is so, so scary. I never imagined something like this could even happen.”
Someone else added, “Terrifying! I’m so thankful that you are okay!”—showing how concerned viewers were. However, not everyone was convinced.
Some questioned why the video was being filmed at all.
An individual asked, “Just wondering why did you plan to film it in the first place?”
Another wrote, “And you were recording at that time? You did that on purpose.” Others expressed similar doubts, with one simply commenting, “I just want to know why you were recording.”
The video has started a wider discussion on safety and how quickly accidents can happen, even when doing everyday things.
In a separate incident at a fuel station, a woman pulled out a revolver on a pump attendant after reportedly getting into a dispute involving her father.
“I will shoot so much that even the housemates will refuse to identify” CNG was to be filled in a car in Hardoi district of UP. Asked the salesmen to get down the car riders. There was a dispute on this. The woman pointed a revolver on the chest of the salesman.
