Popular YouTuber Ranveer Allahabadia has been at the centre of a major social media storm over controversial remarks made on Samay Raina’s show, India’s Got Latent. Aldahbadiawho was a guest on the show, posed a lewd question which sparked widespread public outrage against him.

The video, which went viral on social media, has provoked strong condemnation of the YouTuber, sparking public outcry and the possibility of legal action. Although Allahabadia, who goes by the moniker ‘Beer Biceps’ and runs his own podcast, has issued an apology in an attempt to quell the controversy, the issue continues to be hotly debated.

“YouTuber Ranveer Allahabadia has done something so disgusting that if I were there, I would have cut his tongue. I am so ashamed… Anyone across the country who brings me Ranveer Allahabadia’s tongue, I will give a cash reward of Rs 5 lakh (sic),” Ansari said in a video statement.

Who Is Faizan Ansari

Social media influencer Faizan Ansari is frequently seen with film stars. He was the first to publicly offer a reward of Rs 11,000 to the auto driver who assisted Saif Ali Khan when the Bollywood actor was recently injured following an alleged burglary attempt at his residence.

Ansari has also collaborated with Salman Khan’s rakhi sister, Shweta Rohira, for Fashionista magazine. Ansari’s pictures with numerous stars regularly go viral.

What Is The Ranveer Allahabadia Controversy?

Ranveer Allahabadia sparked controversy over a statement about the intimate lives of parents made on the comedy show India’s Got Latent.

In the show, Allahabadia left viewers stunned with his crude remarks, asking a contestant about the “size of his p***s” and even offered Rs 2 crore if he “sucked his d**k”. He went on to pose another outrageous question: “Watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life. Or would you join in once and stop it forever?”

A written complaint has been filed against Allahabadia, influencer Apoorva Makhija, comedian Samay Raina, and the organisers of India’s Got Talent.

Mumbai Police have launched an investigation into the matter. Mumbai Police DCP Zone 9 Dixit Gedam stated that an inquiry is underway. However, no FIR has been registered yet. The National Human Rights Commission has taken cognisance of the matter and has written to YouTube.

Ranveer Allahbadia’s Apology

After the backlash, Ranveer Allahabadia issued an apology for his remarks calling it a “lapse of judgement”.

“My comment wasn’t just inappropriate, it wasn’t even funny. Comedy is not my forte. I am just here to say sorry,” Allahabadia said in a video he posted on his social media accounts.

“Many of you asked if this is how I wish to use my platform and obviously this is not how I wish to use it. I am not going to give any context, justification or reasoning behind whatever happened. I am just here for an apology,” he continued.

“I personally had a lapse of judgement, wasn’t cool on my part. The podcast is watched by people of all ages, don’t want to be the kind of person that takes that responsibility lightly and family is the last thing that I would ever disrespect,” he further expressed.

Acknowledging the need for accountability in such shows, he said, “Need to use this platform better, that’s been my learning from this whole experience. I promise to just get better, have asked the makers of the video to remove the insensitive sections from the video. All I can say in the end is I am sorry. I hope you forgive me as a human being.”
