An exhilarating roller coaster ride turned into a terrifying nightmare for riders at Hyderabad’s Numaish exhibition. The coaster suddenly malfunctioned, leaving passengers suspended midair for a harrowing 30 minutes. The riders were screaming for help, reported The Siasat Daily. On January 16, passengers were stuck upside down after the amusement ride halted unexpectedly due to battery issues.
In its report, Siasat Daily mentioned that an official from the exhibition society explained, “The amusement ride got stuck upside down during a trial run due to battery issues. Technicians on-site quickly replaced the battery, restoring the ride’s functionality.”
A video of the same showing the passengers stuck upside down has surfaced on social media.

Soon after the nerve-wracking video surfaced online, internet users raised concerns about the safety of riders.
“Their operations should be banned immediately. They operate without proper maintenance,” read a comment.
Another suggested, “Authorities, owners, and others involved in approving the working condition of this ride and who have validated its conditions should also be given a ride randomly so as to have confidence that the work is done properly.”
“Never try to go on such amusement rides anywhere in India. Please don’t. Zero safety measures Zero punishment for offenders Zero value for life,” an individual posted.
An account wrote, “Very dangerous. Putting someone upside down for 25 minutes could cause serious medical conditions. What are the authorities doing? I am sure there were no checks from their side.”
“Never sit in such amusement rides, bungee jumping, paragliding, etc. in India. The organisers have no accountability. Your life is at risk,” wrote a user.
Secretary of the Numaish Exhibition Society, Surender Reddy, told the Deccan Herald that a battery issue led to the ride stopping unexpectedly. However, he dismissed reports claiming that passengers were stuck upside down for around half an hour.
Reddy said the issue was resolved by the officials in less than five minutes and the ride resumed without further glitches.
