Nothing beats the innocence of toddlers who find joy in the simplest things. Whether it’s splashing in water, echoing through the air, or being adamant about their favourite food, children are a single introduction to pure happiness.
Speaking about a child’s innocence, a toddler in the US state of Oklahoma has captured the internet’s heart after making an unusual request to police officials. The munchkin called 911 and asked for “emergency doughnuts.” Yes, we aren’t joking.
On February 27, the Moore Police Department shared an endearing audio clip on their official X (formerly Twitter) account. The audio captured the amusing conversation between the boy, Bennett, and the police official. The child first dialled 911 and began saying gibberish to the dispatcher before hanging up. Moments later, he redialled the number and told the dispatcher about an “emergency need for doughnuts.”
“911, it is an emergency,” Bennett said, to which the dispatcher replied, “An emergency?”
“Emergency doughnuts,” the child replied, adding, “Doughnuts? I want doughnuts. Are you going to share your doughnuts?” The dispatcher can be heard saying in response to the boy’s request.
The dispatcher then asked if Bennett would share his doughnuts, to which he replied, “No, I’m not.”
After a little back and forth between them, Bennett hung up the call saying, “Bye! Have a good day. Boop!”
The story doesn’t end here! The Moore Police Department officers arrived at Bennett’s residence the following day. They surprised the little one with a box full of Dunkin’ doughnuts. The officials shared this heartwarming story on social media with the caption, “Emergency Donuts: The Sequel. Bennett requested a doughnut emergency, and #MPD delivered! His smile and laughter said it all!”

An X user praised, “What a great thing these officers did! This is awesome to see, especially with all the bad news we hear these days.”
“You guys were sweet to do this. To all the naysayers: I’m sure his parents are making sure this doesn’t happen again. Just enjoy the cute story as a break from negative news!” said another.
Another wrote, “Cute story… wish we had 911 fifty-five years ago when I was a kid lol.”
“Your department is so awesome. Kudos to the 911 operator and the officers who supplied the emergency doughnuts,” posted a user.
An account remarked, “That was absolutely amazing for him. Hopefully, he understands what the call is mainly for and law Enforcement is there for him and his family. The bottom line, Moore PD, Great Job!”
“If we spent less time hating each other and more time worrying about what this toddler is worrying about, our world would be a much better place,” commented a user.
An individual stated, “Super sweet moment in the midst of the chaos, you all have to deal with—thanks for the lolz!”
