Now in books from AI to Raja Bhoj, children will get modern and culture from ‘Veena’ of class 5

NCERT has made a big change in 5th class books. Now children will get information from modern to cultural knowledge in 5th class itself. The National Council for Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has prepared a new Hindi book ‘Veena’ for class 5, which is quite special this time.

Actually, in this book, children will now be introduced to modern subjects like Artificial Intelligence (AI), ISRO, Gaganyaan, while the stories of Panchatantra, Raja Vikramaditya and Raja Bhoj will get knowledge of moral education and traditions.

Glimpse of modern India

In this book, children will be encouraged towards science through Gaganyaan Mission, Artificial Intelligence and lesson related to ISRO. Children will be able to know how India is waving its glory in the world in the field of technology and space today.

Inspirational story too

The story of Paralympic winner Murlikant Rajaram Petkar has also been included to promote patriotism and sportsmanship. Petkar, who was injured in the 1965 battle, gave India the first gold medal in swimming in the Paralympics in 1972. Their struggle and victory will inspire children to never give up.

Travel to Ganga River and Environmental Messages

In the text called ‘Ganga Ki Kahani’, children have been told how the Ganges river travels to the Bay of Bengal. It describes religious places like Gomukh, Devprayag, Haridwar, Kashi, as well as a message that how this holy river becomes beige due to pollution. This lesson also gives the message of protecting the environment.

India’s diversity will be identified

For the first time in the book ‘Veena’, children will get a chance to know various states, festivals and traditions of India. Haryana’s milk culture, Lokatak lake of Manipur, Kaziranga National Park in Assam, Sadken festival of Arunachal and historical identity of Ujjain have been explained as a story. This will give children a direct experience of cultural diversity of the country.

The ancient art and culture of India has also been given a place in this book. Through the painting of Ajanta and Ellora caves, sculpture and architecture, children will be told how rich and ancient Indian art is.
