Despite being a star of Indian cricket, Rahul Dravid was seen driving a first-generation Hyundai Creta.

Rahul Dravid, known for his composed and humble demeanour, recently made headlines when he was involved in a car accident in Bengaluru. Unlike what one might expect from a celebrity, the former Indian cricketer calmly conversed with the auto-rickshaw driver after the incident. Despite being involved in a road mishap, Dravid’s serene response stood out, and as no one immediately recognized him in the busy area, some speculated that he might be shooting for an advertisement.
What caught many off guard was Dravid’s choice of car— a first-generation Hyundai Creta, valued at around 15 lakh. Given his stature in Indian cricket and years of playing for the national team, this choice of vehicle surprised many fans.
In a video of the incident, both Dravid and the auto driver remained polite and composed. Dravid was reportedly heard asking, “Why didn’t you brake on time?” to which the driver explained, “Sir, you braked very hard, and my vehicle couldn’t stop in time.” The incident took place around 6:30 PM during rush hour when Dravid was reportedly driving from High Ground to the Indian Express Circle.
According to the police, the matter was resolved at the scene, and there have been no formal complaints filed regarding the accident.
When a user asked, “He drives Creta?” The individual, who shared the video, replied, “I’ve seen him drive Tuscon a couple of times. He used to come in that to KSCA. Don’t how many cars he has and which one he uses now.”
Another shared, “This reminds me of CRED advertisement ‘Indra Nagar ka gunda hoon main.’ I don’t know what they are saying, but Rahul Dravid looks so polite while fighting too. He is playing defensive while fighting with an Auto Driver. He drives a simple middle-class car himself and fights with auto-rickshaw drivers on the road. How much more normal life is expected from a celebrity?”
“We got random auto drivers to fight with Rahul Dravid before GTA 6,” a comment read.
An individual wondered, “Why is Rahul driving roaming without security?”
One more added, “What’s more shocking is Dravid is driving a decade-old Creta.”
