Kerala Ranji Trophy 2025-26 squad: Samson returns to red-ball fold, Azharuddeen to lead; full list of players

Mohammed Azharuddeen will lead Kerala in the Ranji Trophy this season. Azharuddeen replaced Sachin Baby, who led Kerala to Ranji Trophy final last season, as captain.

B. Aparajith has been named as the vice-captain. The 15-member squad for the first match against Maharashtra was announced here on Friday. Sanju Samson has been included in the squad, while leading fast bowler Basil Thampi, who didn’t attend the preparatory camp due to injury, has been dropped.

Samson’s last red-ball game came against Karnataka in October last year. The batter is expected to miss the next three rounds of the tournament after he was picked in the India T20I squad for the tour of Australia.
