IND A vs ENG Lions, 2nd Unofficial Test: Haines, Gay hit half centuries before rain stops play on Day 2

England Lions was 192 for three after 46 overs in reply to India A’s 348 when rain forced the end of play on the second day of their second unofficial Test on Saturday in Northampton.

Jordan Cox and James Rew were batting at 31 and zero, respectively. Just 13 overs were possible in the final session of the day. Emilio Gay top-scored for England Lions with 71 off 117 balls.

Earlier, Tushar Deshpande removed half-centurion Tom Haines (54) shortly before rain made its first interruption with England Lions at 146 for two.

The change of ball after the 27th over seemed to have worked for India as Deshpande broke a stubborn 94-run partnership which had kept the visitor at bay for a long time in the second session.

Deshpande was called to action with the bat too in the morning session. He scored 11 runs off 14 deliveries, and with a few freewheeling slogs from Khaleel Ahmed got India A close to 350.
