Good news for one crore gig workers! Government of India is going to give a big gift

In this way, one crore gig workers of the country, including delivery boy, courier boy, will get the benefit of this pension without a job, salary or daily wage, without only work or daily pay.

Actually, the Labor Ministry of the Government of India has prepared a draft of a policy related to it. It will be implemented after discussing this with representatives of state governments, business organizations and trade unions. The Government of India is currently trying to agree between all the concerned parties on this policy.

UAN number will get facility

According to the report of the Indian Express, along with providing pension facility to Gig workers, the Government of India will provide UAN i.e. Universal Account Number to every Gig Worker to provide another social security facility. Through this number, whether Gig workers work with any platform or company, they will be able to take advantage of other facilities related to pension or social security. For this, they will have to register by going to the e -ram portal. This pension facility to Gig workers will be linked with their transactions. That is, on the basis of how much work they do or how many places they transport goods in the form of delivery boy, their contribution for pension will be calculated.

The central government and the state government will distribute the rest of the pension liberality. This distribution will be decided only on the basis of GST sharing formula. The central and state governments will also adopt the same method for monitoring of companies and care of gig workers. Under this, the Government of India wants to ensure the entire social security of Gig workers. Its demand was being made a long time ago.

Companies will also have to give contribution

Companies running Agiger platforms in the pension fund of Gig Workers will also have to contribute. According to the report of the Indian Express, under the initial draft of the policy, companies working with Gig workers may have to give 1-2 % contribution of their annual turnover in this fund.
