December Financial Changes: The last month of the year 2024, December, has started. You will see many big changes from today i.e. from the first date. These changes will affect your life as well as your pocket. Let us tell you about all these major changes.

LPG gas prices increased

As soon as the new month starts, many changes are seen. Especially the changes in the price of LPG gas directly affect the common man. On the first of December, the price of gas has increased by Rs 16.50 and in Delhi this gas cylinder will be available at Rs 1818.50. Talking about November, an increase in the price of LPG gas cylinder was seen on the first day of the month itself.

Credit card related rules

From December 1, 2024, there have been changes in some rules related to credit cards of the country’s largest bank SBI. Actually, earlier when credit card users made transactions related to any digital gaming platforms or merchants, they used to get rewards points on the transaction. But, from today i.e. December 1, you will not get any reward points on transactions related to any such gaming platform or merchant.

Changes also seen in OTP rules

Apart from credit cards, there have also been changes in the rules of OTP. If telecom companies implement the OTP related traceability rules today, then cases of spam and phishing can be stopped. Apart from this, all the messages sent by telecom companies will be traceable.

Changes in bank holidays also

If you have to do some bank related work in the month of December, then you must read this. Actually, banks will remain closed for about 17 days in different states in the month of December. When you see the bank holiday list of RBI, you will know that banks will remain closed for 17 days due to various festivals and events in the state. You can see this list here-

  • Banks in Goa will remain closed on the occasion of the festival of St. Francis Xavier on 3 December.
  • Banks will remain closed in Meghalaya on the occasion of Pa-Togan Nengminja Sangma on 12th December.
  • Banks will remain closed in Meghalaya on December 18 on the occasion of the death anniversary of U Soso Tham.
  • Banks in Goa will remain closed on 19th December on the occasion of Goa Liberation Day.
  • Banks will remain closed in Mizoram, Nagaland and Meghalaya on 24th December on the occasion of Christmas Eve.
  • Banks will remain closed across India on the occasion of Christmas on 25th December.
  • Bank holiday on 26th December due to Christmas.
  • 27th December will be a holiday for Christmas celebrations at many places.
  • Banks will remain closed in Meghalaya on the occasion of U Kiang Nangbah on 30 December.
  • Banks will remain closed in Mizoram and Sikkim on 31st December on the occasion of New Year’s Eve/Losong/Namsung.
  • Due to weekly holidays on 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 December, bank branches will remain closed.
  • Due to 14th and 18th December being second and fourth Saturday, there will be holiday in bank branches.
