Flood wreaks havoc in Thailand and Malaysia, 12 people lost their lives


Heavy Flood in Malaysia and Thailand: The worst floods have occurred in southern Thailand and northern Malaysia. Due to this severe flood and heavy rains, the lives of thousands and lakhs of people in both the countries have been completely affected. According to Reuters, by Saturday (30 November) the death toll reached 12. Houses have been flooded in many areas. Due to rising water level, thousands of people were evacuated to safe places in the last three days.

According to Reuters, the Disaster Prevention and Rehabilitation Department informed that this severe flood in southern Thailand has affected about 534,000 houses and the death toll has reached 9 on Friday (November 29). Thousands of people have taken shelter in 200 temporary relief camps in the areas affected by this severe flood.

5.34 lakh houses affected by floods in southern Thailand

At the same time, this is the worst flood in 50 years in Chana district of Songkhla province. Many video footage of the flood going viral on the internet were seen in which people were being taken out of their homes on trucks because they were submerged in flood water. While in a video, rescue workers are seen pulling out a child from the roof of a flood-affected house in Sateng Noko district of Yala province.

1.39 lakh people affected by floods in 9 states of Malaysia

The National Disaster Control Center said that about 1,39,000 people in 9 states have been affected by the severe floods in Thailand’s neighboring country Malaysia. At the same time, till Friday (29 November), 3 people have died here. On the other hand, Thailand’s Meteorological Department has warned that there is a possibility of heavy rain in some areas of southern Thailand on Saturday (November 30) and the risk of floods in the affected areas may be higher. Thailand’s neighboring country Philippines was also affected by six cyclones in the month of November alone. Which caused widespread devastation in the Philippines.
