The Hero Splendor has long been the best-selling motorcycle in India, consistently maintaining its position at the top. Renowned for its affordability, exceptional reliability, and impressive fuel efficiency, the Splendor offers outstanding performance across various terrains and weather conditions, all while keeping maintenance costs to a minimum.

A Remarkable Journey On A 25-Year-Old Splendor

Recently, Hero MotoCorp made headlines by gifting a brand-new motorcycle worth Rs 13 lakh to a loyal Splendor owner. The reason? A father-and-son duo embarked on an extraordinary journey from Mangalore, Karnataka, to Ladakh on their 25-year-old Hero Splendor — a feat that caught the company’s attention.

Despite the Splendor being a modest commuter bike, their remarkable achievement impressed Hero MotoCorp so much that they decided to reward the pair with a surprise.

The Gift: A Limited-Edition Motorcycle

Hero MotoCorp presented the duo with a rare Centennial Edition motorcycle, valued at Rs 13 lakh. This limited-edition bike, based on the Hero Karizma XMR, was created to commemorate the 101st birth anniversary of Hero MotoCorp’s founder, Brijmohan Lal Munjal.

Only 100 units of the Centennial Edition have been produced in India. Of these, around 25 were distributed internally to Hero’s team, while the remaining 75 were auctioned, generating approximately Rs 8.6 crore in revenue.

A Memorable Moment At The Showroom

The father and son were invited to a Hero showroom, where their special reward awaited them. It was a deeply emotional and memorable occasion, marking a proud moment for both the family and the company.

Features Of The Hero Centennial Edition

Though based on the Hero Karizma XMR, the Centennial Edition is a distinct and unique motorcycle.

It comes equipped with:

  • Carbon fibre body panels
  • Akrapovic exhaust system
  • Aluminium swingarm
  • 43mm upside-down (USD) adjustable front forks
  • Wilbers fully adjustable gas-charged monoshock
  • 210cc engine, potentially tuned for increased power and torque
