ENG vs IND: Jamie Smith scores joint third-fastest century by an England batter in Tests


Jamie Smith registered the joint third-fastest century by an England batter during the second Test against India at Birmingham on Friday.

Smith reached the milestone in 80 balls, joining Harry Brook in the list. The fastest century by an England batter is by GL Jessop in 76 balls in 1902.

This Smith’s second Test century, the previous one came against Sri Lanka. He made his red-ball debut against West Indies in 2024.
