A 20-year-old man was arrested at Dublin Airport after going on a destructive rampage inside the terminal on St. Patrick’s Day. The incident reportedly began after he missed his flight, leading to an outburst that left significant damage in its wake.

The man, shirtless and sporting a gator around his neck, kicked off the chaos by ripping an item off a counter and hurling it across the terminal. Viral footage circulating on social media captures him tossing chairs and even a large table near Gate 107 in Terminal 1, while stunned travellers looked on.

As the video progresses, he continues his tirade, throwing an object nearly ten yards, followed by more chairs and another table. At one point, he even flung a pair of clothes into the air. Seemingly unfazed, the man flexed his arms for the camera, appearing to revel in the attention. The footage ends with airport staff and security stepping in to contain the situation.

In a statement to the Irish News, the Dublin Airport Authority (DAA) confirmed that the man was arrested after causing significant damage.

“Airport Police at Dublin Airport responded to an incident in Terminal 1 this morning which resulted in a male individual being arrested. The passenger arrived at the airport intoxicated, missed his flight, and proceeded to cause significant damage to our airport,” the DAA said in a statement as per MS News.

“We hope the justice system deals with him appropriately and that we never have to see him at Dublin Airport again,” it added.

The Irish police confirmed that the man was charged in connection with the incident.

“Gardai arrested a man in connection with incidents of criminal damage in Terminal 1, Dublin Airport, this morning, Monday, 17 March 2025. The man, aged in his 20s, has been charged and is due to appear before Court 2 of the Criminal Courts of Justice Dublin, this morning,” the police said in a statement as quoted by Irish News.

Last month, a disturbing incident occurred aboard Alaska Airlines Flight 2221 shortly before takeoff from Oakland International Airport. An elderly man aggressively grabbed the hair of a woman seated in front of him. A flight attendant tried to intervene and had to strike the man to free the woman. A fellow passenger also helped and once the woman was freed, she quickly moved away.

Due to the disturbance, the plane returned to the gate and the flight was ultimately cancelled. The man was then taken into custody.
