Diljit Dosanjh is on the India leg of his eleven-city Dil-Luminati Tour 2024, which kicked off in the national capital on October 26. The Punjabi singer has since performed in Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Pune, and Kolkata. As Dosanjh is all set to perform in Bengaluru today, he landed in the city yesterday and stopped by the iconic Rameshwaram Cafe to enjoy some South Indian delicacies.

Dosanjh even shared a video of him relishing the café’s signature ghee podi idli, dosa, and a cup of filter coffee before heading to the hotel. He enjoyed the food inside his car.

“Tomorrow Bengaluru. Dil-Luminati Tour. Year 2024,” wrote Dosanjh while sharing a video on X (formerly known as Twitter).

Diljit Dosanjh Bengaluru Concert

The Punjabi singer’s Bengaluru concert will take place at the NICE Grounds today, starting at 7:00 pm and concluding by 10:00 pm, with gates opening at 6:00 pm. Tickets for the event, as listed on Zomato while writing this article, are priced at Rs 50,000 and above.

Attendees aged six years and older must purchase a ticket, and children under 13 are required to be accompanied by an adult. The event has strict rules in place: alcohol, cigarettes, weapons, fireworks, musical instruments, and other dangerous objects are prohibited. Additionally, intoxicated individuals will be barred from entering the venue, and a zero-tolerance policy on narcotics is strictly enforced.

Diljit Dosanjh On Songs Promoting Alcohol

While performing in Lucknow, Diljit Dosanjh addressed the controversy surrounding his songs that promote alcohol. He criticized those calling for censorship of such songs, arguing that if alcohol-related content in music is to be censored, the government should also censor scenes of alcohol consumption in films.

“There’s an anchor I’d like to talk about. He challenged me to create a hit song without references to alcohol. For your kind information, sir, Born To Shine, Kinni Kinni, GOAT, Naina, and Lover are just a few of my songs that are far bigger hits than Patiala Peg. So, your challenge doesn’t hold any ground,” Diljit said

He added, “I am not defending my songs. I just want to say that if you’ll want to censor songs then the censorship should be on Indian cinema as well. Which big actor has not done an alcohol song or scene? Censorship films mein bhi laga do (same censorship should be applied in films as well),” the ‘Lover’ singer added.

“But mera kaam sasta kaam nahi hai (My work is not cheap), my films have received National Film Awards as well. It’s very easy for us to run a disclaimer that alcohol is injurious to health during concerts and sing songs, but then it will look like we are targetting someone. So, if you have spread fake news, I challenge you to run the correct news. I am not at all angry with anyone,” Diljit concluded.

For those unversed, in compliance with a court order ahead of his show in Hyderabad, Diljit humorously modified the lyrics of his song.

He changed “Tainu teri daaru ch pasand aa Lemonade” to “Tenu teri coke ch pasand aa Lemonade” and “5 taara thekke utthe” to “5 taara hotel ch”.
