Debt has become, has eaten poison … What do scriptures say on suicide?

An incident in Panchkula on Tuesday has shaken the whole society. After hearing the story of Bageshwar Dham, seven people took a terrible step like mass suicide. This incident is not just a police case, but from religious terms, it is not a proper step.

In Hindu religious texts, suicide is not considered a good act. This is considered to be one of the most harsh acts. Suter is said to be contrary to religion. In the Manusmriti it is stated that ‘He who kills himself from himself, he will not be pure. That is, he who destroys his own body can never be called pure or righteous.

That is why suicide in the scriptures is considered to be the cause of sin, iniquity and tragic rebirth. This step disrupts the journey of the soul and puts the phantom vagina, hellish experience, and incomplete desires.

In the Garuda Purana, it is written cleaning ‘Atmaghati narakam yati, pretayoni vasam gatam. This means that the one who commits hell attains hell and his soul continues in the ghost womb.

According to Garuda Purana, not getting rid of suicide, but more tribulations begin. The soul remains incomplete and goes away from salvation.

What does the knowledge of the Gita say? ‘Uddharedaatmanaatmana naatmanavasadayet. That is, raise yourself with your self-strength, never fall down to yourself.

Both scriptures and modern psychology say that dialogue, support and solution are required in the hour of sorrow, not migration. Spirituality is guidance, a means of salvation, but its meaning is never a migration from life.

Understand mental depression, do not ignore.
If such symptoms are seen, seek the help of family, religious leader or psychiatrist. Scriptures teach that no matter how difficult life is, a lamp of hope always burns. Suicide is not a solution, but a new crisis. The true following of religion is in grooming life, not ending.
