#MenToo started trending on social media platform X a day after a 34-year-old man from Uttar Pradesh died by hanging himself from the ceiling at his residence in Bengaluru. Netizens have blamed “the system” for the death of Atul Subhashwho worked in a private firm in Bengaluru while demanding justice for him.

Before taking the extreme step, Subhash recorded a video and also left behind a 24-page death note alleging harassment by his wife and her relatives.

Hundreds of netizens posted on X with #MenToo and #JusticeForAtulSubhash hashtags while seeking justice for Subhash.

A netizen on X wrote, “It’s a crime to be a man in India.”

X user Dr BL Bairwa said “the system’ has killed Atul.

Another user said Atul Subhash’s case is just one of many in India and there are countless similar stories remain unheard. “Honestly, our justice system is so broken,” read the post.

A user alleged that the judiciary has taken his life.

Chandan Mishra said “men often suffer in silence, burdened by responsibilities, yet their struggles remain unseen”.

Subhash, who ended his life in his Bengaluru apartment, said that his wife has filed several cases against him and is in a way responsible for this extreme step.

“My wife has registered nine cases against me. Six cases are in the lower court and three in the high court,” Sharma said in the video he recorded before taking this drastic step.
