Imtiyaz Ali On Casting Couch: Many actresses have spoken openly about casting couch in Bollywood. Many actresses have also shared their painful experiences. Now well-known director Imtiaz Ali has talked about casting couch in the film industry. He has said that it is not necessary that if a girl compromises then it is not necessary that she will get the role.

Speaking at IFFI Goa, director Imtiaz Ali said- ‘Believe me, Mumbai’s film industry is remarkable because of the way it treats women. It is very safe for women. He further said- ‘I have been a director in the Hindi film industry for 15-20 years. I have heard a lot about casting couch.

‘If a girl compromises, she…’
Imtiaz Ali says- ‘A girl comes, she is scared and she feels the need to compromise. Let me tell you, if a woman or girl cannot say ‘no’, her chances of success do not necessarily increase. It is not that if a girl compromises, she will definitely get a role. If a girl can say ‘no’ and respect herself, then only others will respect her.

‘Compromising will give you better opportunities in the film industry’
The Jab We Met director further said- ‘People like me and many others often think about whether we take someone seriously or not, we have to respect someone before casting him. Therefore, please understand that the thought that you will get better opportunities in the film industry by compromising is a lie. In my experience, it is quite the opposite. People who compromise often compromise with their career also.
