Some working parents rely on childcare assistance, often hiring nannies. However, in an unusual arrangement, a woman receives monthly compensation from her husband for bearing and raising their child.
Giving birth to children is a source of happiness and pride for many parents. However, a woman named Camilla has caused controversy by revealing that she receives a fixed monthly salary from her husband in exchange for having children.
She refers to this payment as a “Woman Tax” and openly discusses this financial arrangement on social media, stating that it compensates her for bearing their children.
According to a report by The SunCamilla states that she receives approximately Rs 17,938 from her husband each month. He provides this amount in two instalments of £85, equivalent to around Rs 9,000. Annually, this amounts to Rs 2,63,806, which Camilla refers to as “woman tax”.
She justifies this by stating, “This is because every month I have to go through periods for a week and I have given birth to children through two painful pregnancies.” She further elaborates that both pregnancies were marked by severe nausea and culminated in surgical deliveries.
Camilla clarifies that the concept of a “woman tax” originated from her husband, not herself. He initiated a monthly levy, disbursed in two instalments, specifically for her personal expenditures. This allowance, totalling around Rs 9,000, funds her manicures and pedicures, a practice that brings her joy.
Thousands of people watched this video of Camilla on social media and reacted to it. One user wrote, “Then your husband should also get the man tax for listening to you.” Another user wrote, “Every husband should do this much for his wife.”
