A woman lost control of her SUV and crashed into the reception area of a hotel in Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly last week, creating panic among staff and guests.
The dramatic incident, which took place on July 25, was caught on CCTV and the footage has since gone viral on social media.
The incident took place at Hotel Ramada, located in the upscale Civil Lines area, under the Baradari police station limits.
According to The Times Of India report, the woman and her husband were leaving the hotel after dinner. While reversing the white SUV, she reportedly pressed the accelerator by mistake instead of the brake.
The vehicle suddenly surged backwards, broke through the main gate, and smashed into the hotel’s glass entrance before crashing into the reception area.
The CCTV footage clearly shows the white SUV reversing near the hotel’s entrance late at night. At least three to four people can be seen standing near the reception doors. As the woman presses the wrong pedal, the vehicle jerks back at high speed, ramming directly into the large glass door.
The glass shatters instantly, and the bystanders are seen running away in panic to avoid getting hit. The SUV continues into the reception area before coming to a stop.
Meanwhile, no injuries were reported, though the crash caused serious damage to the property and chaos inside the hotel.
The identity of the woman has not yet been revealed, and more details about the incident are still awaited. So far, there has been no official statement or comment from the police regarding the matter.
