In today’s Instagram-dominated world, creating aesthetically pleasing reels has become a cultural phenomenon. But the relentless quest for the ideal reel has led many to prioritise aesthetics over safety. Individuals, often driven by the desire for likes and followers, are going to extraordinary lengths to capture the eye-catching shot. From precarious cliff-edge poses to daring stunts, the obsession with creating viral content has not only raised serious concerns about the safety of content creators but also set a dangerous precedent for their followers.

The internet is full of such content where people perform dangerous stunts that have led to numerous incidents. Another such incident has surfaced online that shows a woman from China dragged out of a moving train while capturing a selfie video during her visit to Sri Lanka.

In the now-viral video, we can see the woman holding the railings of the train and leaning out of the moving train door. It was at this moment when a branch of a tree suddenly hit her and dragged her away. Seeing this, the man behind the camera screamed out loud in fear.

According to a report by Dailystar, the train stopped at the next station, and a few fellow passengers returned to the accident scene to help the woman. Fortunately, the woman didn’t suffer any serious injuries as she fell on some bushes after being dragged out of the train.

The video showing the horrifying moment was shared on Instagram alongside the caption, “It’s reported the train was halted at the next stop, and passengers went back to help her. The woman was not seriously injured.”

As soon as the video went viral, social media users chimed into the comment section to share their views. They couldn’t hold back and reacted to the video with raging anger at the woman for putting herself in danger for recording Reels.

“Stupidity over everything,” read a comment. An individual wrote, “She is lucky that it is only a bush.” A user questioned, “No sense of fear?” “This is so silly,” exclaimed another.

Earlier, another video went viral that showed a mother dancing on the roadside, unaware of her little daughter straying towards the road. The video shared on X by a user named Ghar Ke Kalesh showed the mother, engrossed in creating a video, performing a dance to Modern Talking’s song Brother Louie. Meanwhile, her daughter could be seen wandering dangerously close to traffic when her son urgently pointed out the situation to the woman. Soon enough, the woman rushed to pull back her toddler from the road’s edge.

These incidents raise concerns about the dangers of social media stunts and the need to prioritise everyone’s safety above all.
