With America, like Tell, India will put the same tariff in the cut of trump tariff

India Proposes Retaliatory Duties: In response to Trump’s tariff, the Government of India has also decided to impose retaliation. The proposal has been given to the World Trade Organization in this regard. This will be followed by apple, almonds, bouric acid, pear, steel and aluminum. According to the news agency Reuters, the tariff will be imposed on Washington in response to the huge tariff being imposed on India’s steel and aluminum. On Monday, by giving notice to the WTO, India said that they are eliminating the concessions being given on the special goods of America and the import duty will be increased on it.

India’s retaliation

The step from India has been taken at a time when New Delhi says that due to the conservationist steps of the US government, it was $ 7.6 billion being exported from India to the US market.

It is worth noting that in the first term, President Trump had increased the customs duty on steel and aluminum by adopting a similar conservation policy in the year 2018. Significantly, the US had put 25 percent and 10 percent tariffs of 2018 over Indian steel and aluminum, which was further extended in January 2020. This year again, the US re -revised the tariff over steel and alynium, which came into force from 12 March 2025. It has now been increased from America to 25 percent.

India is currently the second largest steel producing country in the world and has been struggling with the challenges of this tariff for a long time. In such a situation, the World Trade Organization has indicated to increase business differences between the two countries and increase the tariff again by President Trump.

Differences emerged on aluminum tariffs

These differences between the two countries have emerged when New Delhi and Washington were implementing the new trade agreement. India had demanded a cut on the tariffs being imposed on steel and aluminum on behalf of the US, so that the tariff gap could be compensated.
