Economists also suggested ideas on this
The theme of the meeting was ‘Sustaining India’s growth momentum in a time of global uncertainty’, in which economists shared their views on how to deal with global economic challenges and geopolitical tensions. In the meeting, economists like Surjit S Bhalla, Ashok Gulati, Sudipto Mundle and many other experts present stressed on equal development of all sectors and all sections of the society.
Concern expressed on these issues
In the meeting, economists expressed their concerns about the decline in consumption and inflation before the budget. In recent times, rising inflation has affected the domestic budget. Due to this, along with reduction in disposable income, expenditure has also reduced. Due to this the level of GDP in the country has also decreased. To counter the decline in consumption, targeted measures such as extending the benefits of the scheme to weaker sections, increasing public expenditure in rural areas and encouraging employment generation in non-agricultural sectors can prove helpful.
