Scott Boland extended his remarkable record in Test cricket by taking a hat-trick against West Indies in the Third Test of the series at Sabina Park in Kingston, Jamaica.
Boland completed his effort at the start of the fourteenth over, removing Justin Greaves (caught at slip), Shamar Joseph (leg before wicket), and Jomel Warrican (bowled) in consecutive deliveries to all but seal an inevitable victory for his side.
Boland achieved the feat in what would prove to be his second and final over, as the West Indies crumpled to a meagre 27 all out. He finished the innings with figures of 2-1-2-3 to complement three wickets in the first innings.
Having set the Windies a target of 204, Australia came out all guns blazing to reduce its opponents to 7-5 and 11-6 on its way to a crushing 176-run victory. Mitchell Starc was the primary destroyer, taking 6-9 in 7.3 overs, completing 400 Test wickets in the process.
