Why Turkey could not enter BRICS, was it costly to fire against India?

Turkiye BRICS Membership: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who is often vocal against India, now seems to be changing his tone. Recently, Erdogan did not mention Kashmir in the United Nations General Assembly, which was his habit earlier. This change is being discussed at a time when some media reports about Turkey’s efforts to join the BRICS group had claimed that India disagreed on it.

Turkey completely rejected the reports which said that India opposed Turkey’s participation in BRICS. Recently, Turkey was included as a partner country in the BRICS conference held in Kazan, Russia, which is one of the 13 countries this year. Turkiye said that these reports are not true and are far from reality.

Erdogan’s silence on Kashmir

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is always seen standing with Pakistan on the Kashmir issue but now he is silent on that subject. In September, he had avoided mentioning Kashmir while addressing the United Nations General Assembly. Some analysts believe that this could be a part of his political strategy, while others consider it important in the context of the elections to be held in Jammu and Kashmir.

German Chancellor’s visit to India

This news has come before the visit of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to India, which started from October 25. Turkey’s process of joining BRICS and Erdogan’s new tone show that change is coming in global politics. Turkey’s attitude towards India and Erdogan’s strategy now seem to be moving towards new dimensions.
