Xu’s remarkable journey began in August and lasted 11 weeks.

In one video, he broke down the cost of each trip.

A 28-year-old Chinese student, studying in Australia stunned the internet after he revealed his weekly international commute for love. For three months, Xu Guangli travelled weekly between Shandong, China, and Melbourne, Australia, balancing a long-distance relationship and completing his master’s degree in arts management at RMIT University.

Xu’s remarkable journey began in August and lasted 11 weeks. Each round trip spans three days: starting at 7 a.m. in Dezhou, he travelled to Jinan to catch a flight to Melbourne, with a layover along the way. He attended his weekly class, spent a night on a friend’s couch to save money, and returned home the following day.

In one video, he broke down the cost of each trip, which totalled 6,700 yuan (Rs 77,000).

This included 4,700 yuan (Rs 54,700) for light tickets, taxi fares, and meals.

“Despite the costs exceeding the 10,000 yuan (Rs 1.1 lakh) monthly rent I paid in Melbourne, the money and effort were worth it for love and the good food at home,” Xu said.

He revealed that the trips also gave him opportunities to explore various Chinese cities and even visit Vietnam during one journey.

Social media users were stunned by his commitment, praising his stamina and dedication.

“I have never seen anyone so devoted to love before,” one commenter wrote.

Another remarked, “I wouldn’t travel such a long distance weekly for anything. It’s simply too exhausting.”

Xu completed his studies in October and no longer needs to make the arduous commute. His story has sparked admiration and curiosity, cementing him as an online sensation for his love-driven determination.
