Remember Swiggy delivery partner Pankaj, who delivers orders while caring for his two-year-old daughter? His touching story went viral after Gurugram-based CEO Mayank Agarwal shared a LinkedIn post highlighting Pankaj’s dedication as a single parent balancing work and fatherhood. The post struck a chord with many online, inspiring an outpouring of support.
Well-wishers flooded the comments, offering financial help, and some even asked for his contact and UPI ID, while one even covered daycare expenses for his daughter, Tun Tun. However, in a LinkedIn update on Wednesday, Mayank shared that Pankaj has graciously declined all financial assistance.
Agarwal edited his original post, removing Pankaj’s UPI ID and adding a note stating, “He (Pankaj) does not need any financial help now. He said he is getting a lot of calls and can’t do work. Folks, please do not call him.”
Agarwal further elaborated on Pankaj’s response, writing, “He said he didn’t need any help because he is competent enough to take care of his daughter. He said the help should be directed towards someone who really needs it. He was happy to inform me that he has ‘Laxmi’ in his home in the form of a daughter.”
Pankaj’s selflessness and determination have earned widespread admiration online. Commenters praised his courage and resilience, with one writing, “I am amazed by the zeal, resilience, and courage that both this gentleman and his daughter have. May God bless them with peace and happiness. I salute the spirit of this gentleman.”
Another shared, “This truly touched my heart. Mr. Pankaj’s strength and love as a father are beyond inspiring. We often overlook how many silently endure struggles with a smile. More empathy, less judgment—always.”
It all started with a LinkedIn post by Gurugram-based CEO Mayank Aggarwal, who recounted a heartfelt encounter with Swiggy delivery agent Pankaj. When Pankaj arrived with an order, Mayank asked him to bring it upstairs, but stopped when he heard a child’s voice over the phone. Curious, he stepped outside and saw Pankaj’s two-year-old daughter, Tun Tun, quietly seated on the delivery bike.
Pankaj explained that he brings his daughter along on deliveries because there’s no one else to care for her. His teenage son attends evening classes, and tragically, his wife passed away during childbirth. Despite these hardships, Mayank noted Pankaj’s quiet determination and calm demeanour. While some customers suggested Pankaj should stay home, he continued working without complaint.
“This experience reminded me of how much we take for granted and how many people silently bear great difficulties every day. To Mr Pankaj and little Tun Tun—your strength is truly inspiring,” he said.
