Pakistan PM Call NSC Meeting: In view of the Pahalgam terror attack, India took a strong message to Pakistan and made several decisions including a comprehensive cut in diplomatic relations with it, postponing the Indus Water Treaty of 1960 and closing the Attari post. Fearful of India’s action, Pakistan’s PM Shahbaz Sharif has called a meeting of the National Security Committee. Such meetings are called on such important occasions when issues related to national security are to be discussed.

Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khwaja Asif said that top civilian and military leadership will hold a meeting on Thursday (April 24, 2025) for a proper reply on India’s move to postpone the Indus Water Treaty and cut diplomatic relations. Asif said in a statement, “A meeting of the National Security Committee will be held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.” He said that “decisions will be taken to give proper answer to the Indian steps. The meeting will include the chief and head cabinet ministers of the three army organs.
