Instagram influencer and popular radio jockey, Simran Singh, was found dead in her rented apartment in Sector 47 of Gurugram on Wednesday night. The 25-year-old enjoyed a massive fan base due to her engaging on-air presence and social media influence. As per the reports, Simran was found hanging in her apartment, where she had been living alone for several years. One of her friends reportedly discovered the body and informed the police, following which she was immediately rushed to the hospital. However, the doctors pronounced her dead.
No suicide note has been recovered from her residence, and her family has also refused to file any complaints against anyone. According to the RJ’s family, Simran had been dealing with some personal issues, which prompted her to take the tragic step. Speaking to ANI, ASI Pradeep Kumar, Sadar Police Station, Gurugram, said, “We have taken action based on a written complaint from the family members, and a post-mortem was carried out on Thursday morning. The body has been handed over to the family. No case was registered.”
Who Was RJ Simran Singh?
Coming from Jammu and Kashmir, Simran Singh was fondly known as ‘Jammu Ki Dhadkan’ by her fans. She was associated with a reputed radio station before starting work as an independent radio jockey. She was also popular on Instagram, enjoying over 7 lakh followers on the platform. Simran’s last Instagram post was uploaded on December 13, capturing a happy video of the influencer. “Just a girl with endless giggles and her gown, taking over the beach,” the caption read.
In an old interview with JK News Today, Simran opened up about her personal life. Revealing that she had a small family including her parents, a little brother, and a grandmother, the influencer mentioned how they had always supported her career. In the same interview, she spoke about her academic journey and shared that she did her graduation in 2021 from the Central University of Jammu in Travel and Tourism Management.
Ahead of completing her degree, Simran ventured into the field of RJ and started giving interviews. The 25-year-old, who also wanted to continue her studies, pursue a master’s degree, an MBA, and do modelling, left for the heavenly abode in an untimely manner, leaving the community in shock. Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also expressed grief over her demise and extended condolences.
