  • Now put water, roli, kumkum and flowers in a copper pot and offer the water while looking towards the sun. Chant 12 names of Sun God.
  • After offering Arghya to the Sun, walk around the same place three times, this is considered equivalent to circling the Sun God.
  • Worshiping Narayan with sesame seeds on the day of Makar Sankranti is considered auspicious. There is also a tradition of eating khichdi and sesame laddus on this day.
  • On the day of Makar Sankranti puja, recitation of Shri Narayan Kavach, Aditya Hridaya Stotra and Vishnu Sahasranama.
