In what seems to be a modern-day matrimonial checklist, a wedding in Maharashtra was abruptly called off, not over family disputes or compatibility issues, but because the groom’s CIBIL score didn’t make the cut. For the bride’s family, love might be blind, but financial stability certainly isn’t.
In Maharashtra’s Murtizapur, wedding preparations were in full swing as both families were set to finalise the match. However, the bride’s uncle made an unusual request. He wanted to check the groom’s CIBIL score, reported The Times of India (TOI).
And when he did, he was taken aback. The groom had taken multiple loans from various banks, and his credit score was alarmingly low. A poor CIBIL score often points to financial instability, irregular payments, and loan defaults, raising red flags for the bride’s family, and ultimately leading them to call off the wedding.
