Today, UPI has the highest popularity for digital payment. With its arrival, the life of people has become very easy now. But often these things are coming out on social media and other platforms that the shopkeeper is preparing to apply extra charge for receiving or paying from UPI.
Ever since this news has come out on social media, since then it is being made quite viral on social media. However, now the government itself has clearly made it clear about this. The Finance Ministry has written a post on social media X and wrote that the government is committed to promoting online payment, but all kinds of rumors should be brake.
Finance Ministry’s reply on UPI
The Finance Ministry further said in its post said that efforts are being made to create panic by spreading such unnecessary panic things. Significantly, in June, more transactions have been done with UPI than visa transactions. In 2025, on June 1, the transaction from UPI was 64.4 crores and the next day also crossed 65 crores. However, a year ago, 64 crore UPI tanks were done in Yanni Financial Year 2025.
Speculation and claims that the MDR will be charged on UPI transactions are completely false, baseless, and misleading.
Such baseless and sensation-creating speculations cause needless uncertainty, fear and suspicion among our citizens.
The Government remains fully committed…
