What was supposed to be a silly, playful moment at Coldplay’s concert in Boston, the world’s most popular band’s performance, turned into a “ColdplayGate” controversy overnight. Chris Martin, the frontman of Coldplay, was at the centre stage when the kiss cam game was played on the jumbotron at the Gillette Stadium. The camera panned and shifted through couples before landing on Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and his HR boss, Kristin Cabot. The only catch? The two are married but not to each other. The two were seen embracing on the giant screen before they realised the spotlight was actually on them.
Upon the awkward realisation, Byron could be seen dipping immediately. His alleged partner, Cabot, swiftly followed by leaving the frame. As for Martin, he knew something was cooking. “Oh, look at these two,” he said. Noticing that the two were “caught” in a spot, the singer joked: “Either they’re having an affair or they’re very shy!”

The moment captured on kiss cam between the alleged cheating couple turned into a massive controversy and a trending topic across the world. Dubbed as the “ColdplayGate”, the memes refuse to die down as the Internet collectively attends the funeral of marriages.
“My wife was at this show & she said after this happened, Chris Martin asked every couple that appeared on the screen if they were actually together for the rest of the night. Super messy,” an X User wrote.
