But these problems can be solved properly.
Shringla said that India has never supported illegal immigration. Indian officials in Washington have always helped in exile of illegal immigrants. Efforts are being made to organize legal migration in the US, as it is an important source of talent for America. In addition, if the process for H-1B visa or green card is simple, then many youths of India will get better opportunities. Shringla said, “It should be an important part of our relationship with America.”
On bilateral trade relations, he said that India was talking on a partial free trade agreement with the US in Trump’s first term and this talks could start soon. As a result, trade between the two countries will increase and there will be more access to each other’s market. He also said that this step will avoid issues like tariff, which can be at the top of Trump’s mind.
In the context of the purchase of US -made security equipment, Shringla said that it has always been a part of the discussion with the American side. America will not have any problem in giving India the equipment that India needs, and it should be included in the overall dialogue. In addition, it will also put a pressure on India to increase the purchase of US defense equipment, and this issue can also be resolved properly.
He stressed that there is good relations between Prime Minister Modi and President Trump, which will be helpful in strengthening the relationship between the two countries.
