Pakistan Army Chief General Asim Munir: Pakistan’s Army Chief General Asim Munir made statements on matters like India, Hinduism, two-nation theory, Kashmir and Gaza at the first annual conference of Overseas Pakistanis, which were not only disputed, but also divisive and hate. In a program organized from 13 to 16 April 2025 in Islamabad, Pakistan, he also appealed to Pakistanis living abroad for financial assistance. At the conference of Pakistan Army Chief General Asim Munir, his style was not of any commander but a staunch religious preacher.
General Munir said in the program, “We are different from Hindus in every possible aspect of life.” This statement is the same old interpretation of Mohammad Ali Jinnah’s two-nation theory, in which religion was described as the foundation of nation building. General Munir further said “Our religion, customs, traditions, thinking and ambitions are different, so our ancestors laid the foundation of Pakistan”.
Overseas appeal to Pakistanis
Aseem Munir’s speech looked more like an economic begging than an emotional appeal to Overseas Pakistanis. He said during the program, “You are showing love from your country, sending money, investing. Don’t forget that you are associated with a superior ideology”.
Two countries built on the foundation of Kalme?
Munir claimed that only two princely states in the world are built by Allah on the foundation of Kalme, one Medina and the other Pakistan. He said, “Allah has created Pakistan after 1300 years”. At the end of his speech, Munir described Kashmir as the head of Pakistan and criticized the Israeli action in Gaza and expressed support for the Palestinians. All the big leaders of Pakistan, including Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, were present in the overseas procession held in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan.
