
On Sunday (April 13, 2025), Russia expressed the possibility of strengthening and expanding its friendly relations with India and said it is expected to develop multi -faceted cooperation with New Delhi. In a post on Telegram on Telegram on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic relations, the Russian Foreign Ministry said, “We express confidence in the rapid development of friendly relations and expansion of Russian-Indian relations.”
India and Russia established their diplomatic relations on 13 April 1947. According to the Russian Ministry of External Affairs, bilateral relations have a characteristic reliability, high level political negotiations, and particularly privileged strategic partnership. Government news agency Tas quoted the ministry as saying, “They have equal views on the major aspects of mutual trust, respect for national interests, global and regional politics.” The ministry said, “There are high level meetings and talks every year to discuss the major areas of cooperation as well as international and regional problems.”
The ministry also said that cultural, human, business and economic cooperation between the two countries is successfully developing and one of the major areas of nuclear power negotiations remains. The Ministry said that both sides are committed to creating a multi -focused global system based on the principles of equality, the criteria of international law and the principles.
Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavarov recently said that Russia considers strengthening its special strategic partnership with India as per its foreign policy concept considers the priority of foreign policy. He had said, ‘We have long -term relations between our two countries. We can also say that these relationships have lived up to the test of time. Today, Russia and India are promoting their cooperation at the same level on the basis of shared respect towards each other and keeping in mind the interests of each other.
Russia Prime Minister Narendra Modi Has invited to attend the ceremony to be held on May 9 to commemorate the 80th anniversary of victory over Germany in World War II. Prime Minister Modi visited Russia in July 2024, which was his first visit to the country in about five years. During that time he attended the 22nd Russia-India summit. During the last visit, Modi invited Russia President Vladimir Putin to come to India. At the same time, Putin is expected to come to India this year.
