Nowadays chasing online fame often leads people to take dangerous risks. The idea of becoming viral often takes over basic sense. A recent example of this has surfaced online where a young man was seen performing a shocking stunt on railway tracks just to get attention.
The video, posted by journalist Sachin Gupta on X, shows a man in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh, lying on the tracks. He was identified as Ranjit Chaurasia. In the clip, Chaurasia is seen lying flat on his stomach. He is holding a mobile phone and waiting for the train. The video then shows the underside of the moving train which is followed by a slow-motion shot of him getting up.
“The name of this ‘reel-son’ is Ranjit Chaurasia. He lay on the tracks, let an entire train pass over him. Properly made a reel of it. Now the ‘reel-son’ is arrested and going to jail,” the caption in Hindi read.
The name of this reelputra is Ranjit Chaurasia. Lay on the track, spent the entire train on top of it. Made its reel. Now the reelputra is arrested and is going to jail.
As per reports, the stunt was filmed near the Kusumbhi railway station in Unnao and was first uploaded to Chaurasia’s Instagram account. Although the original reel has now been deleted, it has already been shared on several other platforms.
The video caught attention online and soon after the Government Railway Police (GRP) stepped in. Officials tracked down Chaurasia who was found to be a resident of Nyotani village in Hasanganj.
Reports further mentioned that Chaurasia was taken into custody and booked under charges related to blocking railway operations and putting public safety at risk.
Speaking to India Today, Inspector Arvind Pandey from Unnao confirmed the arrest. He said, “We registered a case as soon as we saw the video. The man was identified, arrested, and sent to jail. Anyone found blocking or misusing railway tracks for stunts will face strict legal action.”
However, on social media, many users pointed out that the video might be fake. They think the stunt didn’t really happen and the clip was edited to make it look real.
A user wrote, “Doesn’t seem like he did it. He just shot 3 videos: 1. While lying down on tracks 2. Only kept his phone on the track and captured the train passing through 3. Then, he shot the last video while getting up from the track.”
Another added, “He might have left the phone on track to record it. No way he was lying on track. Anyone can make this video with a bit of editing.”
Earlier, a video had surfaced online which showed a young man doing a stunt on a moving train. However, his stunt went wrong and he was seen hanging from the window. Fellow passengers stepped in and pulled him to safety.
