According to the police, they have traced the criminals who damaged the foreign fast food restaurant in the Saddar neighbourhood of Rawalpindi.

Using CCTV evidence, the police were able to track down the suspects.

In the Rawalpindi Military Garrison town on Sunday, April 13, anti-Israel protesters burst into and vandalised a Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) restaurant that was crowded with customers. In addition, a group of demonstrators yelled slogans and abused the customers inside the American fast-food chain outlet. The police announced the following day that they had traced the criminals responsible for damaging the multinational fast-food restaurant in the Saddar neighbourhood of Rawalpindi. By using CCTV footage, the police were able to track down the miscreants and promised prompt action. There is a video clip of the incident going viral online.

The viral video shows a few individuals abusing patrons, damaging the eatery, and demanding that everyone leave. People can be seen running out of the restaurant in fear. The video also features the flag of Palestine.

According to the Free Press Journal (FPJ), the manager of the KFC Saddar branch filed a first information report (FIR) stating that ten to twelve armed individuals stormed the establishment around 8:30 pm on Sunday, April 13, intimidated patrons, and yelled slogans. “When we tried to stop them, they hurled abuses and threatened to kill us,” the complainant stated as per FPJ.

Take a look at the video here:

Shared on April 15 on X (formerly Twitter), the video has garnered over 1 lakh views. Social media users reacted quickly to the video.

A user jokingly said, “And that has defeated Israel and America forever!!”

Another commented, “Their hypocrisy is that PSL is sponsored by KFC … Try vandalising it.”

“Pakistan me bhi kfc hai,” an individual surprisingly stated.

“The Internet is filled with kaleshes only, be it from Pakistan, India, or any other place. Btw, Delhi Metro still tops the Kalesh list,” another wrote.

According to reports, KFC and other US companies are being boycotted in Pakistan, Bangladesh, and other places because of perceived ties to Israel and the ongoing violence in Gaza.

On April 9, an enraged mob attacked KFC in Pakistan’s Defence Housing Authority (DHA) in Karachi. Ten people were apprehended by police following the mob violence.

According to Dawn, citing Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Syed Asad Raza, roughly 40 persons, mostly young people armed with sticks and stones, attacked the KFC outlet on Korangi Road in the evening, aiming to vandalise the establishment.
