Soon after Bihar got its first double-decker flyover, an unsettling video surfaced online. The video showed a group of children parts on the newly-constructed bridge. The bridge was recently built to decongest traffic in the state capital, but the video has now raised concerns over infrastructure safety and supervision.
An Instagram user shared the video on their social media page, saying that the incident sparked “serious concerns over public safety and infrastructure security”.
In the video, which seems to have been captured by a bystander, a group of children can be seen tampering with nuts and bolts of the newly constructed bridge in broad daylight. The scene escalated after the children fled from the spot. The camera then panned to reveal the items they had stolen from the structure.

The incident has triggered a storm of reactions online. While some social media users expressed shock and disappointment, others resorted to trolling Bihar. Many of them claimed to come from Bihar, which was not surprising.
Taking to the comment section, one user wrote, “Thore din Ruko, bridge bhi nahi dikhega (Wait for some time, they will ‘steal’ the bridge too).” Another user quipped, saying, “Humara Bihar badal raha hai (Our Bihar is changing).”
Yet another commenter said, “Bihar me aapka swagat hai (Welcome to Bihar).” A fourth user wrote, “Bihar, nothing surprises me anymore.” One joked that it was common in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar and wrote, “Just UP, Bihar things.”
Some users blamed the lack of better education, as one commenter wrote that private institutions are expensive, and government schools are not a decent option. “Where else will they go? They will resort to stealing,” they said.
As of now, the local administration and law enforcement agencies have not released an official statement.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated the Rs 422-crore double-decker flyover built to decongest the Ashok Rajpath corridor that connects a wide array of popular locations in areas such as NIT, PMCH, and Patna University, stated an Indian Express report.
Completed in just over three years by Bihar Rajya Pul Nirman Nigam Limited, the two-lane elevated corridor runs along a 2.2 km stretch from Kargil Chowk to the Science College. The new flyover has two separate decks, one for each one-way road, allowing for added passage for commuters, students, and patients travelling to the area, as well as connecting with the upcoming metro in Patna.
