Jaguar shared a video of its concept car Type 00 where actor Barry Keoghan is seen stepping out from the passenger seat and retrieving his jacket from the trunk.

Jaguar’s new concept car has taken the world by surprise. The luxury car brand surprised everyone when its concept car, Type 00, made its first public appearance at the 2025 Paris Fashion Week. The car was revealed at Miami Art Week in December 2024 and sparked debate over its unusual, blocky design. Now, it has arrived in Paris, this time in a striking French Ultramarine Blue. Jaguar shared a video of the car cruising through the city streets and making a statement at the high-profile event.
The video shows actor Barry Keoghan stepping out from the passenger seat and retrieving his jacket from the trunk. Other celebrities including Jamie Dornan and Zoë Saldaña also took the car for a spin.
The Type 00 stands out for its unconventional, geometric design. The two-seater concept features silver accents on the lower body which gives it a distinctive look. Its alloy wheels remain the same as those seen at its Miami debut. The car’s butterfly doors open to reveal a light-coloured interior and a slightly rectangular steering wheel with rounded edges.
The public appearance of Type 00 has once again triggered a flood of reactions online. While some found the concept interesting, others were not impressed.
One user wrote, “That concept car looks like a reject from a bad sci-fi movie.”
Another commented, “I cannot understand the obsession with cars that don’t look like they’ve fully rendered yet,” while an individual remarked, “Looks like a car out of Roblox.”
One person shared, “Low key, kinda like the design. I think it could look better with some refining and not making it look super square.”
“This is pretty slick, not going to lie. Looks like a lot of companies are going more towards this boxy simplistic look,” someone said.
Jaguar created the Type 00 concept to showcase its new design direction as it shifts to an all-electric brand. Speaking about the car at its launch last year, Jaguar Land Rover’s chief creative officer, Gerry McGovern, described it as a bold step forward.
“Type 00 is a pure expression of Jaguar’s new creative philosophy. It has an unmistakable presence. This is the result of brave, unconstrained creative thinking, and unwavering determination,” McGovern had said.
When it was first revealed, the car was displayed in two colours – Miami Pink and London Blue. With its Paris Fashion Week appearance, a new shade, French Ultramarine, was added to the lineup. However, Jaguar has made it clear that the Type 00 is just a concept. The video shared by the company specifically stated, “Type 00 is a non-production vehicle.”
In an interview with The Sunday Times last December, CEO Adrian Mardell mentioned that the upcoming series is expected to start at around £150,000 (nearly $200,000 and approximately Rs 17.5 crore). The first model in this lineup will be a luxury four-door GT.
Jaguar’s managing director, Rawdon Glover, also confirmed in a recent interview with Autocar that the new EV is “right in the midst” of testing on public roads as the company prepares for its official launch.
