A viral video shows a bus driver driving on the wrong side of the road, risking lives of passengers and other commuters.

Reckless driving continues to be a pressing concern for people across India with numerous incidents highlighting the dangers posed by such behaviour. These acts not only endanger the lives of those involved but others as well. A recent incident from Bengaluru has brought this issue to the light where a bus driver was caught driving on the wrong side of the road.

A video of this alarming act was shared on X (formerly Twitter), recorded by a driver travelling on the opposite lane. The footage shows the bus, travelling on the wrong side of the road. The bus driver, undeterred by the oncoming traffic, continues to drive the bus while other vehicles speed past. The video shows how such reckless driving puts both the bus passengers and other commuters at risk.

According to comments on the post, the incident took place on NICE Road, specifically between the Bannerghatta junction and the Electronic City toll. This stretch is an essential part of Bengaluru’s transport system, making the driver’s actions even more concerning.

The post, which tagged Bengaluru City Traffic Police, called for immediate action against the driver and the bus owner.

“Dangerous Driving Alert! Bus driving the wrong way on the Nice Road! This reckless behavior could lead to serious accidents if a collision occurs. the driver and the owner should be held accountable. Let’s prioritize safety on the roads,” it said.

The video sparked outrage on social media with many criticising the bus driver’s reckless behavior. Several users called for strict action, including canceling the driver’s license.

One user commented, “This should be considered as a culpable homicide.”

Another added, “This is an act of a sick mind. This bus driver is not mentally stable. He should be immediately arrested & jailed.”

Someone else declared, “Driving wrong side should be charged attempt to murder in case of accident.”

“This happens because there is no strict implementation of the law. People feel at best they have to bribe the police,” a person commented.

A frustrated user wrote, “Why is it so hard for us Indians to follow rules? Why don’t we take our lives and the lives of others seriously? This “I’ll do whatever the f*** I want” attitude will be the end of us.”

Lastly, one said, “I am quite amused that normal public can catch this but authorities with all money invested in tech and monitoring can’t. This is definitely worthy of DL cancellation, blacklisting driver so a new DL is never issued and heavy penalty including attempt to murder charges.”
