A content creator has vented his frustration over the difficulties of using an Indian passport. The travel vlogger, in a recent post on his Instagram channel ‘On Road Indian’, claimed that he was denied entry into several countries. “Don’t get happy thinking of Thailand, Malaysia, Sri Lanka. Our passports are of no use in difficult countries,” he said while pointing at his Indian passport. Giving logic to his claims, the man shared that he was unable to travel to Jordan only because of visa-related issues. He also highlighted how Indians are treated in airport security checks in other countries.
“Har jagah entry denied (entry denied everywhere). A lot of countries are dropping visa-free and visa-on-arrival facilities for us. Abhi Jordan Indian passport dekh ke entry deny kar diya (Just right now in Jordan, they saw an Indian passport and denied entry),” the vlogger said.
The man further mentioned that Indians travelling to Egypt would need an invitation letter to cross the border. Meanwhile, in China, Indian passport holders are allowed a 24-hour visa-free transit, while citizens of other countries can get it for 10 days.
“They are just fascinated by the names of Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan. But when it comes to documents, they never trust us. I have money. I have all the documents. My travel history is great. And yet, when they see my passport, they check me. Sometimes they deny entry,” the man revealed further.
“Why is a US Visa validation for Indian Passports?” the content creator asked in the caption of his Instagram post. Many viewers agreed with him and expressed their discontent in the comment section. One of them shared, “In 2025, the Indian passport ranked 85th in the Henley Passport Index”.
Some other users feel Indian tourists perhaps get such “bad treatment” because of their “uncivilised behaviour”. “Finally, someone is acknowledging the challenges Indian passport holders face with global mobility,” said a person.
“It is the impact of the stupid things we do in our country,” added another. As an Indian, I have never experienced such rejection,” shared an individual. The Instagram reel has already collected 7 million views and 5 lakh reactions.
