A heart-melting video of a baby elephant enjoying its first-ever mud bath has gone viral, winning hearts all over the internet. Shared by the Instagram page New Elephant Home, the clip shows a one-month-old elephant named Rodtang having the time of his life as he plays in a muddy pool with pure joy.
The video starts with Rodtang and his mother slowly making their way to a shallow mud area. As soon as the baby elephant steps into the mud, he becomes visibly excited. Though still learning to walk on his wobbly legs, Rodtang dives right into the fun, rolling, splashing, and covering himself in mud from head to toe.
“This is Baby Rodtang’s first time playing in the mud and a small pool! He’s very excited and loves it. At just one-month-old, he can’t walk steadily yet, but he’s already strong and full of energy,” the caption alongside the video reads. “Watch until the end to see just how much fun he’s having! He was full of joy, mud splattered all over her body and covering her eyes,” the caption added.
Since it was posted, the video has been viewed over 74,000 times, and people can’t get enough of Rodtang’s cuteness. The comments are filled with love and laughter.
A person wrote, “Omg this is the cutest thing!”
Another said, “Thank you for this beautiful and entertaining video!”
A user added, “She loved it so much, her wobbly little legs.”
Many called it the “cutest video on the internet,” while others said it brightened their day.
As one viewer perfectly put it: “There’s something magical about watching a baby elephant discover the world — especially with mud and joy involved.”
This sweet moment is a reminder of how animals find happiness in the simplest things.
Meanwhile, another adorable baby animal stole hearts a few days ago.
Moo Deng, a baby pygmy hippo at the Khao Kheow Open Zoo in Chonburi, Thailand, turned one year old on July 10 and became the centre of attention online.
According to NBC News, Moo Deng spent her birthday just like any other day—wandering around, taking naps, and snacking on watermelon and veggies. She also enjoyed a refreshing hose-down shower to beat the heat.
To celebrate the occasion, the zoo threw a four-day birthday party for her.
The highlight? A special 44-pound cake made entirely of fruits and vegetables, made just for Moo Deng. Thousands of visitors came to the zoo to see the beloved hippo and join in the celebrations for her big day.
