A 32-year-old single mother from the United States has shared her heartbreaking story of giving up two of her children for adoption. As per a report published in The Sun, a mother named Hannah Martin has said that she had put her two children up for adoption when she couldn’t afford to raise them.
Hannah had a total of 5 children, out of which 3 live with her and she gave 2 of her children for adoption to other couples. Hannah, a resident of Pennsylvania, had become pregnant at the tender age of 19. She gave birth to her first daughter, Adriana, but when she was just one and a half months old, Hannah’s boyfriend denied being the father.
In such a situation, she gave the girl child for adoption to a couple with the help of a lawyer in 2011. Similarly, in 2013, she gave birth to a son, Tyler. Hannah, who was 21 years old at that time, gave her infant son for adoption to another couple.
She said that this was mentally distressing for her, but she could not raise the children, so she gave them up for adoption. “The feeling of giving a child up for adoption hurts. It’s traumatic. It’s very heartbreaking, but at the same time, it’s heartwarming because you’re doing the right thing,” said Hannah. She is now raising her three remaining children — two sons and a daughter — alone. Although Hannah wishes to see her adopted children, she doesn’t even have a photo of them.
